1. About Us
NorthWire Electrical is a trading name of Maroon Services Ltd. We provide electrical project coordination, installation and related electrical services for domestic and commercial customers across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Electrical works arranged through NorthWire Electrical are carried out by suitably qualified and competent electrical professionals in accordance with relevant UK regulations and industry standards.
2. Quotations
All quotations provided by NorthWire Electrical are:
• Valid for 30 days from the date issued
• Based on information available at the time of quoting
• Subject to change if additional work is required
Quoted prices may change where:
• Hidden faults or defects are discovered
• Additional labour or materials are required
• Site conditions differ from those described during the quoting process
• Customer requests changes to the scope of work
Customers will always be informed before any additional work proceeds.
3. Variations to Work
During the course of electrical works, additional issues or requirements may become apparent.
Where additional work is required beyond the original quotation, this will be treated as a variation of works and may incur additional charges.
Work will only proceed once the customer has agreed to the revised scope or cost.
4. Booking and Scheduling
Bookings are subject to availability.
In some cases, a deposit may be required to secure a booking, particularly where:
• Materials must be ordered in advance
• Specialist equipment is required
• Larger projects are scheduled
NorthWire Electrical reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to operational requirements, emergencies, or circumstances outside our control.
5. Deposits
Where a deposit is required, this will be clearly communicated before confirming the booking.
Deposits may be used to cover:
• Materials ordered for the project
• Labour scheduling and time allocation
• Administrative costs
Deposits may be non-refundable where materials have been ordered or work has been scheduled specifically for the customer.
6. Payments
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment terms are as follows:
• Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date
• Payment must be made using approved payment methods such as bank transfer
NorthWire Electrical reserves the right to charge statutory interest and recovery costs on overdue invoices under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Failure to make payment within the agreed timeframe may result in suspension of further services.
7. Chargeback and Payment Disputes
Customers agree not to initiate chargebacks or payment disputes without first contacting NorthWire Electrical to resolve the issue.
Where a chargeback or payment dispute is raised without reasonable cause after work has been completed, NorthWire Electrical reserves the right to pursue recovery of the outstanding balance and any associated administrative costs.
8. Cancellations
Customers must provide at least 48 hours notice if cancelling a scheduled appointment.
Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a cancellation or call-out charge.
Where materials have already been purchased or ordered specifically for the project, these costs may still be chargeable.
9. Abandoned or Delayed Work
If a project cannot proceed due to circumstances outside the control of NorthWire Electrical, including but not limited to:
• Customer delays
• Access restrictions
• Incomplete preparation of the property
NorthWire Electrical reserves the right to charge for time already allocated, materials purchased, and any associated administrative costs.
10. Access to Property
Customers must ensure that safe and reasonable access is provided to the work area.
This includes:
• Clear access to electrical installations
• Safe working conditions
• Electricity supply where necessary
• Pets and hazards being safely controlled
Where work cannot proceed due to lack of access or unsafe conditions, additional charges may apply.
11. Electrical Work and Certification
Electrical work arranged through NorthWire Electrical is carried out by suitably qualified and competent electrical professionals in accordance with relevant UK regulations.
Where applicable, relevant electrical certification will be provided following completion of works.
12. Materials
Where NorthWire Electrical supplies materials, these will be sourced from reputable suppliers.
Due to supplier availability, materials may vary slightly in appearance or specification from those originally quoted.
Where customers provide their own materials, NorthWire Electrical cannot guarantee compatibility, performance, or warranty coverage.
13. Waste Removal
Unless specifically stated in writing, disposal of waste materials, old fittings, or construction debris may not be included within the quoted price.
Where waste removal services are requested, additional charges may apply.
14. Parking and Access Charges
Customers are responsible for providing suitable parking arrangements where required.
Any parking charges, permits, congestion fees, or penalties incurred while attending the property may be added to the final invoice.
15. Liability
NorthWire Electrical will not be responsible for:
• Pre-existing electrical faults or defects
• Hidden issues within walls, ceilings or flooring
• Damage caused by previously unsafe or non-compliant installations
• Delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control
Our liability for any claim relating to services provided will be limited to the value of the work carried out.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
16. Guarantees
Where applicable, workmanship guarantees may be provided for specific services.
Manufacturer warranties apply separately to materials and equipment supplied or installed.
17. Force Majeure
NorthWire Electrical shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
• Severe weather
• Supplier shortages
• Transport disruptions
• Illness or emergencies
• Utility interruptions
18. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
Any disputes arising in relation to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
